17/06/2009 - Trade visitors were highly impressed with the two ARBURG exhibits at the Plastpol: the electric ALLROUNDER 420 A convinced with a high-speed, thin-walled application with an outstanding cycle time of only 2.2 seconds. ARBURG also presented an extremely cost-efficient automation solution by combining the ALLROUNDER 470 C GOLDEN EDITION with the MULTILIFT V SELECT robotic system. Despite the economic crisis, the Plastpol 2009 trade fair was a success for ARBURG. Staff at the ARBURG stand spent their time at the exhibition in intensive specialist discussions and in establishing high-quality contacts. “Both our exhibits precisely reflected the interests of visitors to the Plastpol and the number of concrete meetings even exceeded 2007, which was already a highly successful year for us at the exhibition”, said Dr. Slawomir Sniady, the manager of ARBURG’s subsidiary in Poland. He also reported a lot of enquiries from new customers who were hardly affected by the crisis, if at all, or who were new to the Polish plastics market. These mainly come from the packaging industry, which is enjoying ever-increasing growth rates in Poland.

“Not surprisingly, the high-speed application for the production of tubs on the electric ALLROUNDER 420 A was an absolute hit”, said Dr. Slawomir Sniady. The exhibit actually managed to set an exhibition record: with an impressive cycle time of just 2.2 seconds, the ARBURG machine was the fastest in the whole Plastpol show. The ALLROUNDER 420 A also aroused the public’s interest in the ALLDRIVE series. “Our visitors asked a lot of detailed questions about the performance of our electric machines in terms of precision, speed and energy efficiency, as well as discussing specific applications”, explained ARBURG’s Polish manager, adding: “Feedback regarding the ALLROUNDER 470 C GOLDEN EDITION exhibit featuring the MULTILIFT V SELECT servo-electric robotic system was very positive as this is perfectly tailored to the requirements of our market in terms of cost-efficient automation.”

The Plastpol 2009 was positive throughout, according to Dr. Slawomir Sniady: “There is good reason to hope that the plastics industry in Poland will survive the crisis without major damage and will continue to develop – even though growth rates may not be quite as rapid as in recent years.” There are signs of a clear upward trend in the packaging sector, where stringent requirements apply in terms of precision, speed and cost-efficiency. “In Kielce, we have impressively proven that ARBURG can meet all of these requirements with its ALLROUNDERs”, says the subsidiary manager, looking optimistically to the future.
